You’ve probably heard of the term growth mindset before. It’s one of those attributes we’re told are beneficial to have but its easy to miss the point of it.
So let’s break down the growth mindset.
The growth mindset is the belief that their most basic abilities can and will be improved through dedication, hard work and maximum effort. This view helps to instil a love of learning and a resilience to failure and setbacks which is essential to success and great achievements.
Having the growth mindset from a young age can help you overcome many obstacles through school and life. For example, a child with a fixed mindset who gets bad grades in English, will simply believe that they are bad at reading and/or writing. This will likely be enough to get them to stop putting in effort. However, a student with a growth mindset will acknowledge that although they have difficulty in English, they will be able to improve in the subject through hard work.
Here at StudyRight, the growth mindset is at the heart of everything we do. We encourage the growth mindset in all our students and tutors and motivate them to spread the positivity like Nutella.
We want to encourage all children to strive for their goals and believe that they can do it, no matter what, as long as they put in their all.
